Events at 183 Website
Heermance Events at 183 is a West Village event space created by Heermance Farm, designed to host intimate gatherings, culinary collaborations, cultural programming, and private events. The website was developed as the primary digital presence for the venue—communicating the atmosphere of the space while providing essential information for potential clients, collaborators, and event organizers. My role involved designing the structure and visual direction of the site, beginning with wireframes in Figma to establish user flow and page hierarchy before translating those designs into a fully built website.

Brief
I was challenged to create a website to showcase a new rentable event space, Heermance Events at 183, owned by the company. As the event space marketing was primarily culinary focused, I partnered with the space's representative, Chef Amanda Freitag, to develop a comprehensive visual identity for the space. The project involved integrating and customizing a booking form from Triple Seat event management software, as well as a logo developed by another designer. The site includes a gallery of edited photos of previous events. Developed in Framer. Wireframed in Figma. Utilized Javascript, CSS, and HTML for custom coded elements.
Process/Solution
Wireframing & Information Architecture: The project began in Figma,, where I developed wireframes to map out the structure of the website. This stage focused on defining the key user journey—how visitors would move from discovering the venue to understanding its capabilities and ultimately submitting an inquiry. I organized the site around a clear hierarchy:
introduction to the venue
visual presentation of the space
information about event types and capabilities
inquiry/contact pathway
Creating wireframes early allowed the team to review layout decisions, page structure, and navigation before moving into final visual design.
Visual Design: After establishing the site structure, I developed the visual design to reflect the aesthetic of the venue itself. The design emphasizes clean layouts, strong photography, and restrained typography to mirror the understated elegance of the physical space. Generous spacing and image-forward sections help communicate the atmosphere of the venue while keeping the interface uncluttered and easy to navigate.
Translating Physical to Digital: One of the core design challenges was conveying the experience of the space through a digital interface. To achieve this, the website relies heavily on photography and visual pacing to guide the viewer through the venue. Sections are structured to allow imagery to lead the narrative, giving visitors a sense of scale, layout, and ambiance before they ever step inside the space.

Outcome
The final website serves as both a visual introduction to Heermance Events at 183 and a practical tool for event inquiries. By combining clear information architecture with an image-driven design approach, the site communicates the venue’s identity while supporting its role as a space for gatherings, culinary collaborations, and cultural programming.
